Imagine my surprise when I sat down to watch the Eurovision last night, only to be confronted with what I thought was an episode of Lady Boys of Bangkok. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Or my ears. Whatever happened to the days of Cliff Richard, Sandy Shaw and Terry Wogan?<\/p>\n

The favourite in our house – and with the UK voting public, apparently – was the Polish entry. Just really liked the lyrics and the sentiment behind them, plus the beautiful skirts that the dancers wore, ahem! In case you haven’t seen the original video<\/a>, have a quick look and see what I’m talking about…<\/p>\n All joking apart, it was a runaway victory for Austria, and exactly the kind of result the bookies hate – a popular choice with the casual punters.
