In recent times, there has been a very simple formula to solving the Summer Plate at 3.30 pm<\/strong> – back a Peter Bowen trained horse. And today is no exception as the welsh maestro has been aiming Book Em Danno<\/em> at this race all season. He has had 3 runs over course and distance and won all 3. Why change a winning formula?<\/p>\n The 2.55 at Market Rasen<\/strong> is also a valuable race – the \u00a320,000 Summer Hurdle – and this is another intriguing contest. What struck me the most about this race was the number of front runners there are in it. I counted at least 5 that like to be up there forcing the pace. That is good news for our selection Discovery Bay<\/em>. This horse can pull early in it’s races and not settle, but I don’t see that as a worry in this. His form last season when 2nd to Willows Saviour gives him an outstanding chance and he looks good value to run a stormer.<\/p>\n Over at Newbury, the Super Sprint at 3.50 pm<\/strong> is always a contest worth a few quid. The stats are beginning to mount up now for this and they are strongly suggesting that Harrys Dancer<\/em> will be waltzing away with the prize (yes I know, corny wasn’t it).<\/p>\n Sticking with the dancing theme, I will also suggest a bet on Waltzing Matilda<\/em> in the 4.40pm at the Curragh<\/strong>.
