Keep your hat on!

I am absolutely amazed that we have a full day of racing after the hurricane that has hit the country this week. All the ramparts from General Towers have been smited and I have had to hoist the flag in surrender and move out until the construction men straighten it up again. Not good. Poor TGL had to spend Valentines in a 5 star hotel, with spa treatments, champagne, finely cooked steaks and sleep in a 4 poster bed. Not the luxurious lifestyle she is accustomed to!

On to today and I hope Chance Du Roy comes back in 1 piece after his Ascot exertions, as after this it is all roads to Aintree for 1 of our Grand National hopes – see my Grand National page for all our selections. How he fares today is irrelevant to his National chances, but a nice safe round of jumping will suffice.

Talking of Ante-Post advices, if you took advantage of the advice given here last week – Last Instalment – then you will now be sitting pretty with a 50/1 bet NRNB for the Gold Cup, all paid for by lumping on at the generous sp of 8/1 last Sunday. If you didn’t heed my advice then never mind, keep taking the tablets.

The ground everywhere is going to be testing today, so ensure that all your own selections can handle it and are proven on it. I shall list all my selections below and in keeping with our new policy of no beating around the bush, I shall now stop blabbing.

Haydock 14.55 Wychwoods Brook 10s with bet365

Ascot 15.15 Kaylif Aramis 8s with bet365 and Ladbrokes

Ascot 15.50 Rolling Aces 7s with Skybet

Gowran 16.10 Santo Prince at SP.
