Finishing touches

By | February 22, 2014

I had the honour of attending the Steve Prescott Memorial match at St. Helens last night, a game played in the memory of a true inspiration and Rugby League legend. His bravery and honesty is something that will continue to live on and is something some other sports people could do with adopting. What did strike me was how hard a sport Super League is! Sheesh those men hit each other hard, even harder than TGL hits me after a losing punt. I know which version of Rugby I would rather watch from now on. 1 is fast, hard and skillfull and the other is Rugby Union.

So onto pressing matters and this is traditionally the day where trainers are puttting the finishing touches to Cheltenham preparations. The timing of this weekend fits in perfectly so anyone who knows what they are doing will be sorting themselves out today. I remember a few years ago when Tony the Bookie and I attended alongside some dignitaries such as Pricewise, James Willoughby, Brough Scott and a host of bookies, we received valuable information on Cheltenham in the bar after racing. Valuable in as much as we laid every tip these experts gave us and cleaned up! Experts who needs them.
