I really fancy Viztoria in the 3.15pm. This horse needs ease in the ground to be at her best, so conditions should really suit today. The last time she ran was on fast ground and she didn’t quite get home on it. Back her at 4s with William Hill. or bet365. In the Leger itself, the record of J. Gosden, 3 wins in 6 years, makes Excess Knowledge standout. the horse has been given a typical light campaign and looks to be peaking at the right time. Added to this is the fact that the owner’s new retained rider J. Doyle has the mount and you can be sure this combination will be looking to get their relationship off to a flyer, take the 5s on offer at William Hill. or bet365.
Right on to the big handicap, the Portland at 2.40pm and a statistical look at it. I have 8 stats for us to attack it with. 1) The age of the horse should be 5 or more. 2) A rating between 91 and 101. 3) A weight of no more than 9-6. 4) The horse should have run 3 times at least this season. 5) Won a race with 12 or more runners in previously. 6) Ran in a class 3 or better last time. 7) Likes to be held up and finish fast. 8) Drawn higher than 12. Now these stats will lead us to a couple of horses with big chances. First up is last year’s winner Doc Hay who is available at 9s with bet365 and the back up is Ajjaadd who can be backed at 14s with bet365. These should give us a good run for our money. Now where is Mr Hulmes? I’ve got his room key and his wallet so he can’t be too far….
