Apologies for my absence last week. What started out as a hunch ended up with me being in a water filled cellar with a gun toting maniac killer who had recently escaped from prison! Now that wasn’t how I had planned to spend my time with TGL down in Emmerdale, but the rain scuppered all my plans. Speaking of rain, I once baked a lovely chocolate orange sponge and then someone who shall remain nameless, (it was TGL) left my cake out in it and I was devastated as I’ll never have that recipe again.
However, with the current spell of wet weather, comes an opportunity for some horses to finally get their toes into the ground and show what they can do. I’ve been waiting for Jamiacan Bolt all season to run on soft ground over 5F. Today is his first opportunity to do so. In this race last year, he ran 2nd to Jack Dexter receivng 5lbs. Jack is a favourite of ours and is now a confirmed Group Race Sprinter. With the chance of a strong pace to run at, a decent draw and the softer ground, there is every reason to believe that we will at last see the realJamiacan Bolt, so take the 8s with William Hill in the 3.15pm at Doncaster.
Staying at Doncaster, it looked really hard work yesterday for the horses on the round course and stamina is the word of the day. In the 2.40pm I really like the look of NicholasCopernicus. He has now had 3 runs this season which should have brought him to the boil nicely. He has only ever run over 12F on soft ground twice in his career and both times he was successful, at Goodwood and at Doncaster. That to me suggests optimum conditions. don’t leave home today without having taken the 11/2 on offer from William Hill forNicholasCopernicus in the 2.40pm. Don’t you dare miss out!
Over at Newbury, again conditions are testing and this should set things up for an old friend of ours, Sam Sharp in the 3.30pm. 3 outings ago, Sam Sharp ran on soft ground over 10F at York and beat Hi There giving it 8lbs. Today, Sam is giving Hi There 5lbs and yet is available at nearly twice the price. That doesn’t make sense to me! Even though Sam Sharp has had 28 races, he has only ran over 10f on soft ground twice and won both times, at Newbury and York. Again this screams optimum conditions. And once again my friends I suggest that you take advantage of this over priced runner and avail yourselves of the 12s currently on offer from William Hill and BetVictorfor Sam Sharp in the 3.30pm at Newbury.
