What do you do?

Sometimes you are faced with horses that when you bet on them, they lose and when you bet against them, they win, hence they cost you twice! Now there is a race at York today in which the following horses are engaged Spinatrix, Hallelujah, Doc Hay, Mass Rally, Khubala and Baccarat. Now these horses fit into my opening statement perfectly and have all cost me on various occasions this season, so what do you do? Well, I’m going to take the bull by the horns and nail my colours to the Baccarat mast. I’m sticking with my opinion that the horse couldn’t win the Ayr Gold Cup last time and is still improving, take the 6s with bet365 in the 3.30 at York.

The big race of the day is the Cesarewitch , the 3.50 at Newmarket. this is a long distance handicap over 2m 2f and winners generally fall into 2 types. Genuine flat horses aged between 3 and 5 or hardened jumpers aged 6 plus. Now as I opened with today, a few years ago I backed Carraciola at big odds to win and he finished 2nd, unfortunate. The following year, I was out of the country and Carraciola won at 50s! What do you do? Anyway statswise Lieutenant Miller was the obvious pick, but he has been handed an awful draw on the outside. Now preferably you want a single figure draw so that is a shame, but in hope more than expectation have a saver on him at 14s withBetVictor. However, when one door shuts another door opens. so looking at the single figure drawn horses, we find Recession Proof, a tough, hardy, jump horse who is trained by a handicap genius – J. Quinn and ridden by a jockey whom Tony The Bookie informs me is a superstar in the making – C. King. Take the 20s with BetVictor.

Finally, the jumps season kicks off in earnest today at Chepstow with some rather spiffing stuff. It’s not the day to get too heavily invoved though and a watching brief is mainly advised. If you do want a bet though, look no further than Handazan in the 4.45 and help yourself to the 6s with bet365.
