Who’s a pretty boy, then?

Strewth, can you Adam and Eve it? The Clerk of the course at Doncaster is incapable of reading the weather forecast! I mean, seriously, even though the Met Office had rainfall forecast for 4 days this week, he insisted that the ground would be on the fast side of good. Really? Really? Really? I’m not complaining mind as the more rain the better for our hope One Word More who has been slashed in price all week. The 33s has now disappeared quicker than Mr Hulmes when it’s his round and he currently trades at a fraction of those odds. Bring it on!

So onto today. The jumps cards are poor due to the Aintree festival being round the corner, however I have unearthed one for us in the shape of Dolatulo. His trainer has a great record here and this horse has run well over the course this season. He handles soft ground and should go well.

It is important to back horses on the flat who can perform well first time out. With that in mind, I have chosen us 2 from Doncaster who are both capable of doing just that. I think both horses will handle the ground and am confident that we will get good runs for our money.

And just to finish, there is no problem with having a back up plan. If something happens to One Word More, then we need a safety net. That comes in the form of Jacks Revenge, who is 12lbs better off with Levitate than in this race last season. Add in a better draw and he represents a nice alternative to our Ante- post selection.
